after order is sent, user is logged out

after order is sent, user is logged out

Postby bkgca » Fri Oct 22, 2010 7:33 pm

Been testing..
SS Pro.

have most of it done, but for shipping charges and inventory control.

I notice that no matter IE or FF for a browser , once I submit and order, I then go back to the Home page, and the Home page says I'm still logged in.
But when I go to "your account" , SS first tells me I'm not logged in and have to log back in. I log back in and all is ok, till I submit another order, and when I eventually try to go back into "your account", SS tells me I'm not logged in.

Is this a normal behavior ?

If not, where do I begin to look , cookies? try another PC ?
Settings?

TIA.

This is normal behavior. The shopper is automatically logged out when an order is completed. However the cookie that says that the shopper was logged is not deleted.

We worked around this confusion by having the customer returned to the empty shopping cart after check out. Then it shows them logged out and they choice to return to the store.

I understand the auto logout for security reasons, particularly on a shared computer.

However, what is the point of not deleting the cookie, hence creating some confusion over whether the user really is logged in or not?

I took a look, couldn't find that to be a menu/option driven thing, or did I miss it?
