Duplicate email orders from customers

Why is it that sometimes I am receiving email orders from customers twice or even thrice? The orders have the same data. The Order Numbers are also in an increasing manner. Is it possible that customers checkout twice?

What version of ShopSite do you have? The more recent versions have javascript code that disables the submit button after the first click. However, if the shopper doesn't have javascript enabled that wont happen so it might be possible to double or triple click on a submit and have the form submitted more than once resulting in duplicate orders. If you are processing credit cards are their credit cards being charge multiple times?

Our version of shopsite is ShopSite® Pro 10 sp2 r1. We do not charge multiple times since we review it first. Does this javascript code automatically embedded as soon as we have the recent version?

Yes 10 sp2 would have the javascript automatically in the cart. However as I mentioned if a user has javascript disabled then it won't help them.
