shipping changes not showing up

I am having trouble with shipping information showing up in my shopping cart. I am only using USPS and am registered correctly with them, and I have configured the options I want to use. I've saved all of my changes and published everything, but in my shopping cart the shipping charges are not displaying.

They were displaying earlier today until I started trying to mess around with free shipping options. At the moment, I do not have "free shipping enabled."

I think I know how to do what I need to do regarding the free shipping, but none of that matters if shipping isnt showing up to begin with.

I've reloaded pages and still am having no luck.

Do I need to do something special to publish CGI pages?

I just republished my entire site and the changes went through.

I'm having the same problem I described in the original post. publishing the entire site is not helping anymore.

I'm not sure why it works at times and doesn't work at others, but I finally got my free shipping set up correctly.

You may need to empty your shopping cart if you make shipping changes. The shipping costs may be retained with the product information (like weight and price are) when it placed in the cart and would remain until you empty the cart.

The shopping cart itself does not benefit from having the pages published. But if you add a product, which you have modified, before you republish it would still have the old weight, price, shipping container type etc and would not be updated when added to the cart. And once it is in the cart that information will not change unless the product is deleted or the cart emptied.
