Is Shopsite Down? None of my stores are working

Postby hotlobstah » Sun Jun 20, 2010 11:31 am

Been a pretty lousy day for sales thus far as it's impossible for anyone to order from our online stores. What's going on?

The likely issue is with your web host, as the ShopSite software is statically compiled code. I would check with your host to see if they are having problems. The hosting company's servers could be down, overloaded, or they could have network problems.

Fatcow is our web host-not sure what the deal is but my customers can't order anything. Fatcow has been pretty reliable but something is screwy once you land in the Shopsite store. This actually happens periodically but no one can seem to fix it permanently.

Does anyone else have this type of problem with their store?

It is definitely something with Fatcow's implementation of your store, as it will not load the cart, even the direct "view cart" link. We host hundreds of ShopSite stores and none of them exhibit this behavior.

You will want to get Fatcow to fix this, as something is amiss on their end.

Personally, I'd suggest switching hosts to Lexiconn ASAP.

Their up-time and knowledge of Shopsite are both unsurpassed.

And they can help transfer your store seamlessly with little downtime or effort on your part.

I definitely need to change but I'm not overly impressed by Shopsite when it is working. I have 5 stores with 5 more coming online by the end of the year and need to do some serious research. This will be my off season project. For now I'll just call Fatcow every 5 minutes until they fix it.

Day 3 Fatcow/Shopsite not working properly

Does Shopsite have support people that can help Fatcow resolve this issue?

Sure, but Fatcow will need to contact them.
