Gift Certificate [Re-send] Button

In the Edit Gift Certificate section of any email gift certificate there is a [Re-send the Certificate] button.

We have been using this button to send the certificate to the recipient. To our knowledge, our send is the first time it is sent to the recipient.

Since the button is labeled "re-send" I would like to know if ShopSite automatically sends the certificate.

It depends on the settings you have made for Gift certificates on Merchandising > Gift Certificate > Configure. There is an options "Send Emails on checkout" and if checked ShopSite sends the gift certificate when the order is finalized.
