Computer suddenly unable to work on shopsite

Recently my internet provider did an upgrade of the system while I was working on the 2 shopsite sites that I manage. The result was I lost my internet connection and the provider had to fix something at the telephone exchange b4 I got my ADSL connection back. Since then, I have been unable to use the computer to work on shopsite. I cannot upload any data to the site, assign items, add text - it will not save. I can use the computer for everything else. There is no problem with the hosting as I can use my other (older) PC, (I am running windows xp on both) to work on the sites. I thought it might have been a firewall problem so I totally removed it (Symantec). I also tried restoring my computer to an earlier date, using another browser but nothing has worked. I wonder if anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated. I rang up a computer repair place today and booked a visit but the phone call with them has not left me confident. cheers emmoff in Australia

Have you tried it from different browsers on the machines that don't seem to work?
Have you disabled javascript in your browser? If so re-enable it.
Try Firefox, IE, Google Chrome etc and see if some work.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I have tried Mozilla, IE and Chrome and the java and javascript is running.
