DOBA import questions

Postby BDMILLS » Sun Jan 03, 2010 12:50 pm

Is there a way to use something available in the DOBA upload process to assign products to the proper internal page?

For example, since I can control the DOBA "wishlist" title is there a way to link it to a ShopSite category/page on upload? I can understand that this may need custom coding but even so, the time saved in assuring the product appears in the correct group is worth it.

On a quick, extra question re: DOBA... can I resize their images somehow?

All I get is the image URL but the images, themselves, are almost ALWAYS way too big which limits the number I can have per page. I'd love to have a thumbnail size for the usual showing and a "enlarge image button" available when the user wants to see the full size version.

Thanks to all...

When you click on the Download buttons on the Commerce Setup > Doba screen it shows a page giving you options on how you want the products assigned for that watchlist. You can set the page they are assinged to, modify the prices, specify to create moreinfo pages etc. (Note this was added in ShopSite 10sp1 so if you have ShopSite 10 you won't have all the functionality and should upgrade.)

Since the images are coming directly from doba there is no way in ShopSite to resize them. You could modify your template to set the images to a specific size but the image will still be downloaded as a full size image and just shrunk by the browser to fit your area.

interesting... let the template resize them... not a bad idea at all. I can't see any disadvantages.... in fact, anything I did do "outside" of the template could result in the work being "undone" by another import I think.

Thanks.
