How to enlarge search box on search results page?

In Shopsite Manager 10.0, 'clean' theme layout template, on the search results page the box to do another search is at the center bottom of the page. That position is ok for me but the box itself is only 3 characters wide. How can I enlarge the width of that search box? The search function does work but you can't see what you are typing very well. The width of the search box that is at the upper right on the pages where I choose that option is fine.[/img]

On the Preferences > Search Settings > Search Layout screen what is the value of the Search Field: Display Columns:
