I have a coupon that is $5 off $25 or more.
I tested an item that is on sale for $90 and also put in a non-sale item worth $12...
When I try the coupon with an item excluded from the sale, it does not apply (which is correct) but when i have sale items along with regular items that does not add up to $25, it applies it, which is incorrect!
There is only $12 worth of stuff that shoudl be on sale and it is giving the $5 off anyway!?
Is there a way to fix this?

The coupon does not take into account any other discounts that are being given on items, it just looks at the total cart value. So if you have a 90 product and the coupon is for 5 or of 25 it would be valid.
The only way to limit what the coupon will apply to is to specify products that it applies to and exclude those that don't.

thank you, but I am selecting this certain product to be excluded from the coupon. Is there somewhere else I need to unselect it? Or am I just confused?

How are you selecting it to be excluded? I don't think there is an option to exclude items only to include specific ones so unless you are selecting all products for the coupon but that particular one I don't know how it is being excluded.

In the coupon area, it says "entire order" or "specific products", and i choose to select specific products. Then I go and highlight all of the products that can be included inthe coupon, so why, if this item (and i have many others) are getting included in the discount coupon is confusing me? I have a black friday sale coming up and I have today and tomorrow to figure this out.
I would have thought it would be simple, just highlight the ones that can be included?? SO what is going on I can't give more of a dicount on already marked down items.
I could just have them enter the coupon, but not show the disocunt and I can deduct it later since i process manually, but people like to see the discount applied as they are checking out...Thanks

coupon and free shipping offer

Another question...
If I have a current coupon and and free shipping offer of say: free s&h with $100 or more, will the free shipping still apply if total is over $100 plus the coupon?
I just don't know if i want to offer both at the same time. If they get 20% off, etc, I may not want to give free shipping, too.
