sales tax exempt zip code

Hello,

I used to enter any 5 digit bill-to zip code with -0000 and have no sales tax charged. That stopped working. I recently upgraded to V10? How do I get this back?

P.S. I just tried to submit a post and got this error message: Mistake! There was an attempt of an automatic insert of the message in a forum. Your message is sent to trash. Still probably, that you too long wrote the message - then pass to page back, copy the text, update page, insert the copied text and press button "Send".

Default error message from whoever created the forum software. Obviously not a native English speaker.

This usually happens when you take to long to post the message. If you hit the browser back button and then Preview then you can Submit the post.

Regarding the tax exempt zip nothing that I know of has changed in that regard so I don't know why it would have stopped working.

Thanks for the reply.
I noticed that I have a tax zone called Exempt, the pattern box is blank, the sales tax is set to 0.00% and it is checked to use. This doesn't seem right. I've tried ?????-0000 and 3????-0000 but no go.
How would you set this up from scratch?

I think you need to specify the exact zip +4 number for each merchant that is tax exempt.
