Shopsite changing my css

Postby kgerheart » Tue Sep 15, 2009 8:16 am

Here is the problem I am having. I built a custom design for my main page. It looks the way I want it to here: http://kerigerheart.com/subscription/page2 But when I try to apply it my shopsite site, it is not executing all of the code: http://ediblemagsubscription.com/index.html I tried using the cookbook, the quick and easy guide, etc. One thing I am noticing is that when you view source for my shopsite page, it is taking away the names of the divs in my style section. Has anyone run into this problem before? Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated, I am running out of ideas. Or does anyone know if you can just FTP the main page and use shopsite for the rest? Thank you!

Neither of your links go to anything that is worth while. The first just has a couple of count statements and the second can't be found.

Yes you can just ftp your main page and do other pages in ShopSite. Just be sure that you don't have a ShopSite generated page that has the same file name (index.html?) as the page you ftp to the site or your main page would be overwritten by the ShopSite page with that same filename.

Thanks for replying so quickly. I changed the links.

Do you know which directory the new ftp'd mainpage should go into, as to make sure users are directed to my new main page, rather than the shopsite one?

The index.html page would be at the root of your domain. If you can go to Preferences > Hosting services you can find the path in the field "Output Directory:" near the bottom of the screen. (Note some vendors block this screen so if that is the case you may have to contact them to find out the path)

As for why the ShopSite generated page looks different I would guess that you don't have all the information for the page in your custom template.

Thanks so much for your help, Jim. FTP was denying me access, but I was able to just edit the page through my account control with my host.
