An error I don't know how to fix...

Postby comcents » Wed Sep 09, 2009 11:46 am

I'm working on my first ShopSite store - and things are going pretty well - only two issues I'm not sure how to fix. I'll cover one in this topic - and start another topic about the other so the issues won't get confused.

First the store: https://www.blakely.biz/store/

(Altought http://blakely.biz/store/ seems to work just as well).

One can move between product pages (there are only two) - add to cart, view cart, etc. just fine. One can get to the check-out page. Since I'm still "building" that's as far as I have working. The ERROR though - is from this page- if you click on the "RETURN TO CART" button - you get an error (Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, cgiadmin@yourhostingaccount.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.)
Since I'm hosted at iPower - supprt there can take a week or more. I'm hoping someone can give me an idea of what the issue is - and where to look. Since the store is under our SSL - the ShopSite files are all in a folder at the base of our public_html directory (which is normal for iPower hosted stores).

Thanks for any help, insight - nudges!

I'm not sure what the issue is, but it seems your ShopSite is an older version, v8.3. I would recommend asking your hosting provider to upgrade your ShopSite to the latest v10 and see if that helps.

OK, I will do that. Thanks for the suggestion - however let me explain my frustration... This "process" has been a nightmare with iPower. When we first set up the store- there was a large set of templates - and we chose one (Curves). When they "transferred" the store to use our SLL certificate - the store broke. As noted - they moved the ShopSite folder and contents to our base directory. When they did that - the "Curves" template was no longer available - and the cart and check-out pages stopped working. I had them "reset" the store - and "transferred" it again - this time using one of the templates that was available. When they reset the store - they asked about versions - and I asked them to stay with 10.x. Unfortunately - when the store was finally "reset" (which took nearly 10 days) - the version seems to be 8.3 - if I understand things correctly. By the way - I asked them to look into why roughly half the templates that had been available "disappeared" when the store was transferred - they seemed to not have a clue... That's why I'm looking here for help.

Again THANKS!

I'll followup on this myself... Turns out the issue is at iPower - a problem with ShopSite 10 and using our own SSL cert. They are working on it. In the meantime 10.0 has been restored, and is working fine using their shared SSL. Not the perfect solution - but better than not working at all - and hopefully one they'll get fixed sooner rather than later.

Thanks for the suggestions...
