Watch out for Control Scan.

Back in January we were doing some pricing research for scanning service on our websites. We presently use McAfee Secure on all our sites but got much lower pricing from Control Scan for the same service as well as GEO Trust SSL certs for about 12 different websites we are developing or have up and running. They kept calling us constantly to close the sale even though we told them we would not be ready to launch the new sites for months. They said, no problem the service would not start until we told them to launch it. About a month ago (6 months after we paid them) we asked them to start scanning ONE of our websites to make sure there were no issues before we switched our templates over to use their code. After numerous false positives on security breaches and them taking DAYS to reply to us about those false positives, we pulled the plug on their service. It was UNDER 30 days of testing on ONE site. Now they refuse to refund the money we paid them. They were paid for website scans on about 12 different websites for a year even though they only scanned ONE site for less than 30 days. Additionally they are arguing with us about giving us our money back for the SSL certs they did NOT issue. They do not return our emails or phone calls for days and weeks. Use these guys at your own risk, I know we never will again. We went back to using McAfee Secure and have always been happy with them. Additionaly many vendors sell GEO Trust SSLs but those vendors actualy issue them. We are still trying to get our money back for the SSL certs.
