Price for shipping configuration

Problem:
I have 1 item that is larger that the rest of my items. When I get an order for this item to go overseas it costs more than I am collecting in the checkout cart.

I am using Shipping By Weight in the shipping preferences with a Global Shipping radio button for customers to choose when they check out.

I don't want to raise the price to ship for every item that goes "Global" (my term for out of the USA shipping on my shopping cart)

I don't want to add a surcharge for everyone who orders this one item by using additional handling.

Is there a way to add a shipping charge for this one item if it goes global? I am a little confused on this one.

I think the Lexiconn Shipping module will do this:

It can "customize each shipping option based upon:

- Allowed or Restricted Countries

- Allowed or Restricted States

- Allowed or Restricted Products (all products must have SKUs) as:

- Restricted - where any specified products added to the cart will invalidate the shipping option

- Allowed (exclusive) - where the shipping option is valid only if all products added to the cart match the specified products

- Allowed (inclusive) - where the shipping option is valid only if any product in the cart matches the specified products"
