Error copying new basket aa info file

Postby chas_jake » Mon Jul 13, 2009 5:46 pm

Hello,
I upgraded to the manger version of shopsite. I pasted all of the purchase/view cart buttons, uploaded the site, but when you try to order something you get the following error:
Error copying new basket aa info file "/home/blissfu7/public_html/shopsite/data/moreip/SSMSB1247427981.3384" from "./basket_info.new" This can be caused if the file "./basket_info.new" does not exist, or if either directory path has incorrect permissions or ownership. Please alert the store owner that this problem exists.

Has anyone seen this or have a solution?
Thanks.

Just encountered the very same problem after pasting "Order Anywhere" HTML links - hoping someone can assist.

This is an issue you will need to have your host resolve. If your host is not a ShopSite partner then you can purchase a support incident at http://shopsite.com/support_pricing.html

Answer to problem

Postby chas_jake » Wed Jul 15, 2009 4:53 pm

I contacted ShopSite and this is the response. My cart is working now.
"The problem was that the public_html/shopsite/data/moreip/ and
public_html/shopsite/data/ip/ directories, which are the directories where
temporary shopping cart files unique to each shopper are stored, were
missing (along with several other directories that should exist in the
data directories, but that are empty by default).
ShopSite does not delete these directories in the source of its operation,
so either someone removed them, or they were removed by some other
application or process. I see that you [the merchant] are using FrontPage
extensions on the site, it is possible that if the directories were not
removed by a person then they could have been removed by FrontPage. If this is the case, then you should check your ShopSite each time you Publish using FrontPage and make sure it hasn't deleted these directories again. If it does, then you will need to figure out a way to make FrontPage leave the ShopSite directories alone."
I didn't delete them so Frontpage is suspect. I'm going to keep an eye on the Frontpage issue. I hope this helps.
