ShopSite graphics (.png) not displayed in IE6

Is anyone else having problems when their ShopSite pages are viewed using IE6? I have had to create custom templates just to replace ShopSite's images, because they are .png files, with .jpg files, then they'll show up in IE6. But, the pages still look horrible in IE6. Fine in Firefox, Safari, and IE7 and higher.

I started with the Curved template then customized.

Any suggestions for making the Curved template work in IE6?

It is an IE6 issue that it does not support png format images. I don't think there is anything that can be done to remedy that situation.

You you could convert all the images to jpg or gif format and modify the template to use that format then they would be viewable.

Since browsers are free there is really no real reason why someone should stay with one that old although I know a few people that do. Besides not viewing png images there are also security issues with older browsers that people should be aware of.

I ended up creating jpg files and creating custom templates/includes as necessary. The pages all work on IE6 and above now.
