Publish Error Message

Has anyone seen this error on a publish? (ver 10) The pages are publishing but I get this error each time. Error does not happen on a full Regenerate

What is the entire version number? You can find it between the two logos at the bottom of the start.cgi screen.

Do you have indexing turned on? At what point during the publish does the error occur?

ShopSite® Pro 10 r7.1

Indexing - not sure. I believe it is but I don't know where the setting is.

The error appears to occur after the pages are updated. Instead of the Done! screen, I get this error at the bottom of the publish page.

Thank you.

The indexing setting is a checkbox on the Utilities > Publish screen.

Do you see any output like that included Indexing Product or Indexing Page?

Yes and yes, it is checked for: Index for search during update

Actually, I realized that I'm NOT seeing the indexing output. It's at that point in the process when the error occurs.

I've also changed templates globally to see if I had somehow screwed up a custom template. The problem still occurred if I have it set to index.

What OS are your stores running on?

You should probably contact your host and have them escalate the issue to ShopSite support.

Shop Site OS / Host

Postby Gary Grooms » Wed Jul 08, 2009 10:35 am

I am using Bluedomino as host and I have been in the process of building my clients store for several days...
The "publish" routine was working fine until the afternoon of 7/6/09 at about 1500 hours.

I have been assured that Bluedomino has not made any changes that would affect the Publish routine within the store maintenance.

It seems like I started getting the error aqfter I had used the Utilities\publish\regenerate button...

Today during my first edit of a product I saved and published and I did not receive the error, However after I had edited a second item and published it gave me the error.....
each time when I check the item after running the store the changes I had made were there.
I dont Know???????????????????????????
Thanks

My site is hosted with Hostcentric - I believe it's Linux but not sure. Hostcentric is typically not great to deal with on Shopsite issues. My own system is Windows XP.

Thank you.

Thank your host or one of the other ShopSite users who made your host figure out what was going on.

I think it was a mismatch on the library files that were installed during a patch.

Mine is working fine now too and I never contacted Hostcentric. Very odd but thanks to all involved.

Hostcentric has stores installed so they use the same cgi for multiple stores. So when they fix the issue for one store it is fixed for all.

Well, that's good to know because whenever I have called them with an issue, I can never get to anyone who actually has a clue about Shopsite. They won't let you speak to the higher up engineers. Very annoying but with perserverance, issues eventually get resolved.

This forum is fabulous however because it's rare to have an issue that someone else hasn't already had and posted about here.

Thank you very much.
