Question 20090328_1035:
Question - How to implement Roll Over text with Pages Link Info?
Background:
Pages > Edit Page Content > Link Info contains four attributes related to Link Info.
These are: Link Name, Link Graphic, Link Text and Links to Page
Link Names of subPages (i.e. Categories of products within a Product Line) can be made to appear as a links on a masterPage (i.e. a Product Line) using the Links to Page tag.
We generate the Link Names automatically from out database. We would to have roll over text associated with each Link Name to better explain where/what the link leads to assist shoppers with picking what category to select when browsing for a product.
Have consider using the <title> tag with Link Names in a manner similar to that of alternate tags for images but there does not appear to be direct support for this within the Links Info attributes.
Workarounds attempted:
The Link Text attribute of Links Info supports HTML. Have considered blanking the Link Names and moving what was formerly the value of Link Name to Link Text instead. We could then apply the <title> tag to to the Link Text and thereby implement roll over capability.
However, the Pages Template appears to append Link Text to the Link Name rather than instead of it and utilize a different font and size to make them appear differently.
SubQuestion: What happens if Link Name is appended to a Link Text when Link Text is blank? Can we can force a font and size upon the Link Text content?
