Search results page structure- a table within a page?

How about creating the search results as a template that is called from within a standard shopsite page? Maybe make the search results a table that is surrounded by, anc calls, the standard css used by the "host" page? Is there a reason why the search results must have their own page?

ShopSite store pages are static pages and once published they aren't modifiable on the fly. The search results pages are generated on the fly since it is not known before hand what people will search for. So currently there is no way to put the search results into a standard page.
