I've been messing around with lightbox, trying to get it working properly.. but for some reason I can't quite figure out where I should be putting the appropriate tags and such.. any help appreciated.

Could you please be more specific where you are trying to use the lightbox?

Light box is very picky if you've followed the instructions and still can't get the effect you want -- it may because your web document is not valid (x)html. Lightbox relies on the DOM and that really assumes your page is valid and correct. Start there.

Otherwise take alook at my portfolio --im using a variation on the look:

I started down that road for a client and well... it didn't work, to my surprise as it is an effect that is easy to implement and has a lot of wow factor. The problem I ran into was in order to get the various templates and thier moving parts to work, i had to use non standard (X)HTML, this i am afraid hurts Feyd as I am on the W3c working group for html 5.

I am looking to display multiple images for each product and I think this lightbox is the way I would like to go. Could anyone direct me in the right direction to where I can start looking into this?

I'm guessing it is going to be time consuming to do this for every product but its worth it.

Yes I can help you with direction i would recommend orangoo.com/labs/GreyBox/ rather than light box. as its a similar effect and it makes showing groups a little more obvious also thick box is good.
