Change search results listing?

Postby shaoen01 » Sat Feb 14, 2009 11:13 pm

Hi all,

I am wondering if there is anyway to change how the listings are displayed in the search result page? What formats are there?

With ShopSite 10, the customer can change the sort in a number of ways:
- Relevance
- Price Low to High
- Price High to Low
- Alphabetical A-Z
- Alphabetical Z-A

You can also give different weighting factors to various search criteria to adjust the results.

v7 does not support the more advanced search results formats. You would need to upgrade to v10 to take advantage of these new features.

So v7 only has one way of listing the search results?

Yes, v7 can only display the results in one way (in terms of the order in which they appear). With a custom search product template, you can format the way each product appears.

Hi Rob,

I am just concerned of the display of it not in terms of the relevance or the order. When a user clicks on a search button, what page does he/she get redirected to?

What template is the default for search results page? Thanks

Thanks Rob! To create my own custom search template, do i include it in the current page template that i am using? That means i add the search tags into my custom template that is used for all the pages.

Or do i have to edit some default Shopsite search results template to customize it? Thanks
