Testing Server for Shopsite

Hi everybody-

I'm involved with shoehardware.com, and we're considering a major redesign. The site has been up for about two years, so it feels like time, and the owners are agitating for something "fresher" and more dynamic. Cool.

We've talked about Joomla and the "order anywhere" options in ShopSite, and that's looking like the Front Runner at this point. Cool. So I set up a subdomain and start work. What I don't know is the procedure for setting up a testing server with Shopsite. Can I somehow use the Shopsite license I've got? Do I need to buy a new license to use shopsite on a subdomain? Once the site has gone into production and I don't need the license anymore, can I re-use it for another redesign down the road?

ShopSite licenses are for a single domain URL and it is generally not possible to reuse a license from one store for another store. If it will just be for testing you could get a demo store at
http://shopsite.com/demo.html
The demos are normally good for 4 days but they can be extended to a week or maybe a month by special request.

If you need it for longer than that you could contact the ShopSite sales department for a demo license that you could use on your server. Use the In A hurry link on http://shopsite.com/contact.html to contact the sales team.

Demo Stores seem like just what we'll be looking for. Obviously, we know our credit card processor works, but as far as how we'll be managing products & pages on a store based off Joomla, we'll need time to figure out.

Thanks for the info - now we'll figure out the timeline (there's no way I can do this in 4 days...) and then see about getting our demo store.

My ISP/host for Shopsite (Lexiconn and they are great) set up a test copy of Shopsite for me that is fully functional but just for testing.

You might check with your hosting company and see if you can get the same.
