Product Layout Defaults

Postby tonyroberts » Thu Nov 27, 2008 7:13 pm

Greetings. We want all product images on the right rather than the left. How can we change the product layout form so that image alignment defaults to right instead of left.

Thanks.

It probably depends on the product template where the image is displayed but you might also look on Edit Product Layout and set the "Image Alignment:" to right, the default is left.

Thanks, Jim, this is exactly what we are doing.

What I am looking for is a way to change the Edit Product Layout page so that whenever a new product is created, the Edit Product Layout form automatically defaults to Image Alignment = "right." There must be a way to edit the code that displays this form, but I can't figure out where it is.

There is no way to edit the form since it is created by a compiled cgi.

I think you'll have to set it for each product. If you have a Pro level store you can use the Power Edit feature and select all or a number of the products and set it for all of them at once. Also if you upload your products using a tab delimited file you can set it that way.

OK, that's what I was afraid of, but I'm glad to have it confirmed. We do use the power edit feature so that helps.

All in all, my store owner is not all that technically savvy, so I'm just trying to simplify the process for him as he enters his new products.

Thanks again.
