Cusomizing registration pages

I was trying to do a simple customization of my the pages involved with customer registration. Just wanted to my mast head on it for now. But there are not cookbook directions that I've found, the current available templates are all heavily "include" based, which I really don't know much about, and the ones in the Pro Help section have no javascript involved.

Again, I was just going to use that "Clean..." template and try to customize that a bit. Do you know if there a simple solution for doing what I want to do?

If you are just trying to put something at the top of the customer registration screens, have you tried just putting it in the field "Text at top of Customer Registration screens:" found on the Commerce Setup > Customer Registration > Configure screen?. You can put plain text, html, images etc there and it will appear at the top of all the customer registration screens. That way you don't have to customize a template as long as it has the tag that includes this field.
