Creating custom template and CSS

Postby mn2683 » Mon Sep 15, 2008 6:51 am

Hi,

I am a new user of Shop Site, but I have experience with Miva Merchant.

Right now I am adding products in, and I want my pages to look like the rest of the site I am working on. How can I get the Shop Site tags or code of a template page to look at?

I have a template already set up, with absolute url for everything, but when I select it as the template, everything works button wise but you can't see the products listed.

Also, how can I access the basic CSS for Shop Site, like font, color and size? On the page edit layout they give you basic changes, but how can I directly edit the CSS?

Pro and Manager level stores have the ability to edit templates under Merchandising > Custom Templates.

You can copy the ShopSite templates using the Copy ShopSite template button on the various screens.

For products to appear on a page you must have the page using a custom template which includes a Loop Products section and you need to have a product template that defines how the product will look.

The CSS used in the ShopSite provided templates will usually be found under the Includes area.

You might want to look at the online help for custom templates
http://shopsite.com/help/9.0/en-US/sc/p ... lates.html
which will have links to sample code.

For the time being, I just want to change the font. Its set to a default Serif font and I want it to be Arial or Helvetica. What is the easiest way to change this? I have a custom css file uploaded, with the font information included, but it doesn't work. Can anyone help?

Bop around in the MARKETING> CUSTOM TEMPLATES > INCLUDES

Shopsite is CRAZY when you get under the hood. I've been going bonkers all day trying to put the pieces together that make up the checkout experience.
Nothing is ever simple.
