International Shipping Problem

Postby Steve Russell » Wed Sep 03, 2008 6:37 pm

We are having a problem with our international shipping option in Shopsite v 7.1.4.1 through Sitesell. We offer two types of flat rate shipping: US priority mail at $4.80 and international global priority mail at $11.95.

We have a few recent orders where customers have selected the US shipping rate even though they are shipping to a foreign country. Is there any way to challenge the postal code or some other method to insure that international deliveries are charged the international shipping rate?

Thanks.

All of the manually configured shipping tables are not tied to the address entered by the shopper, so it is up to the shopper to select the proper shipping option for them.

If you are using USPS for shipping, then you can either ask your ShopSite reseller to upgrade your ShopSite to v9.0 or newer that added real-time integration with USPS (see http://www.shopsite.com/help/9.0/en-US/ ... tures.html) that will only show the shoppers the valid shipping options for the country they select.

Or if you have ShopSite Pro and your reseller/host allows custom modules (check with your host), then you could check out this USPS module from Lexiconn that integrates with USPS for older ShopSite Pro stores:
