Cross Sell Images are Missing from the Product Pages

The Cross Sell images are missing from the product pages.

I have "Show Product Image" checked everywhere.

Merchandising > Cross-Sell > Cart Product Cross-sell is "on" and "Show Product Image" checked.

Saved all the product pages and published but still no cross-sell images.

This looks like it might be a programming error in Shopsite.

I've duplicated the same problem in a Demo Store.

Anyone else have this problem?

What is the demo store url where this problem is occurring?

What template are you using? Are you looking on a store page, a product more information page or the shopping cart screen?

Note that for the 9.0 release only the shopping cart template and one product more information page (Modern theme I believe) is designed to use the cross sell feature. No store pages would have the cross sell feature enabled.

The theme Cross-sell uses subproducts as cross-sell items since the cross-sell product functionality was used at the time this theme was introduced.

I reviewed the code and the template was not designed to display the image for the cross-sell products. It just shows name and price.

If you want to change it to display the image then you would edit the product template file and change the
[-- DEFINE PRODUCT_CROSS_SELL --]
section to include the product graphic where you want it.

Something like
[-- DEFINE PRODUCT_CROSS_SELL --]
[-- PRODUCT.graphic --]
[-- INCLUDE Product-Name PROCESS --]
[-- INCLUDE Product-Price PROCESS --]

In your demo store I copied the modern product template and called it mod. I then edited that template and added the [-- product.graphic --] tag as above. I changed the products to use that template and published and now you can see the image for your cross-sell product.

The ShopSite provided templates are not necessarily designed to use every possible feature available in ShopSite. In this case the designer decided that it looked better without images so they didn't include that option. We provide flexibility so merchants can change the templates to their liking or can create new templates from scratch.
