Problem Putting New Images on My Site

Postby rhurd » Thu Jul 24, 2008 2:23 pm

I am having a problem uploading new Images to my web site. When I click on Images it takes over 1 minute to open. Then when I save the new Image it takes about the same time to save it. I have contacted Ipower and they tell me the problem is with my IP provider. My IP provider can here and checked and the tell me I am running at super high speed. My IP provider is Comcast. If I use the program after business hours it runs much faster. During Business hours you can't work with the slow speed. My site has a lot of Images 200MB so far and need to put up a lot more.

Does your host provide FTP access to your site? With that many images it would be much faster to upload them via FTP instead of one at a time with ShopSite, even if you do have a screaming fast internet connection.

Also, make sure that you have your images categorized well in various subdirectories (i.e. don't put a gazillion images in one directory) so that the Images menu can load faster as you navigate to work with specific images.

I do have my Images in sub-directorys and as far as FTP my Host Ipower will not allow you to see my store directory so I can not upload to the correct directory. Also after uploading I then have to copy them to the correct directory. This is slower then trying put them in one at a time. It is a real problem.

:D I have fixed the problem with my website being super slow putting new images on my site. I have switched form Ipower to lexiConn and it is like night and day. I am now able to work during normal working hours.
