Credit cards not working.

Postby brianmis » Wed Jul 23, 2008 10:43 am

Greetings all, my company has just recently setup a new ShopSite store and I have it configured for PayPal Website Payments Pro.

I have everything configured as per the instructions.

My problem is when using the checkout screen when I click on the submit order button on the confirm screen The browser just sits there, eventually I get a CGI Timeout error. This is a self hosted solution on IIS. I also get the following error in the servers application event log.

"The script started from the URL '/store/sc/thankyou.cgi' with parameters " has not responded within the configured timeout period. The HTTP server is terminating the script."

Does anyone have any idea what is going on. It's driving me nuts because I can't figure it out. I've gone over the configuration numerous times but can't find anything wrong.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Try briefly turning off the firewall on the server and see if the same thing happens. It could be that your firewall is blocking the outgoing communication to the PayPal server.

You could also try opening a browser on the server to see if you can reach some domains, such as paypal.com, etc. Because all ShopSite connections to outside services use those service's domain names, if your server has a DNS problem and can't resolve those domains to their IP addresses, then those services will not work.

No problem surfing websites on that box, firewall isn't active on that server as it sits behind the corporate firewall.

Is there a port that I need to have open to the outside?

Does anyone have an idea as to what can be going on. This is driving me nuts as it should be working.

I've once again gone through the configuration, https (443) is open on my ASA.

One other thing? Do I need to have a SSL certificate installed on the webserver? I have not done this yet and want to know if this is why it's not working.

Thanks,
Brian

Thanks in advance.

This will probably involve someone looking at your installation and ISS configuration on the machine itself. I suggest that you get support help from either your host if they are a ShopSite partner or directly from ShopSite.

If you need to get it from ShopSite you can purchase a support incident or annual support at:
