Where are resized images

Postby hiamps » Wed Jul 16, 2008 11:59 am

I am trying to work with the Images and tried resizing to 75% and 50% it said it did it but I can't find any resized images. What am I doing wrong? Is there a tag I need to use to use the resized images?

The resized images are not visible in the back office of the store. They will only be displayed on ShopSite generated pages for products that have specified to use a particular image size. The resize images are placed in subdirectories (sub-folders) of the directory where the image is located and will have the directory names ss_size1, ss_size2 and ss_size3. When you check the box to use a specific size image for the product, moreinfo, shopping cart etc ShopSite automatically loads the image specifed from the appropriate folder for the size you specified.

Note that no special tags are needed to use the image, the normal tags display what ever image size is specified in the database for that particular location.

I need to access the resized images via FTP, however when I go to /media/ss_size* the directory does not contain anything and does not have public read information. I tried chmod on the directories but was denied access. How can I access the directory via FTP to download the resized images?

The ftp user and the web server user often do not have the same access permissions. Since the files are created by the webserver you would need to have access that the webserver uses to access the files. The directory was created by the webserver too so you would probably need to have root access inorder to change permissions on the files so the ftp user can access them.
