Possible Bug - Store Name Changed when Page is Added in 8.3

Ok, I searched and couldn't find anything on this topic. Whenever I add a new page to my site, the name of the store (in the preferences section) gets changed to whatever the new page name is. This means that if I forget to fix it, that the tab in MSIE will show something silly like "Bath Items at New In Store" instead of Bath Items at The Romance Store.

Version is 8.3. Can anyone else duplicate this problem?

The "Store Name" set under Preferences > Store text > Store pages correlates to the name that is given to your store's main page (i.e. the one with the filename index.html in most cases). If you change the name of that page then the "Store Name" field will also be changed.

I believe this was fixed in 9.0 (or maybe even a path to 8.3) so that it wouldn't change if you change the name of your index.html page. You could get a 9.0 demo and verify if this is true (I looked at it in my 9.0 store and it seems to be fixed).

Thanks but that's not the case for me. My index.html has not changed. It happens when I add a NEW page. The Preferences > Store Text > changes the name to whatever name I've given the new page. It's very annoying but it sounds like this is a known issue so probably nothing I can until my web host (HostCentric) finally upgrades. But thanks!

How are you creating your new pages? This issue is not know to occur when creating any page other than editing the page that ShopSite considers to be the home page.
