Account Information & The Logistics of Logging In......

For our Wholesale site I have the customers logging in on the first page. With Shopsite, once you log in, you are taken to the Account Information/Customer Account page which seems to be hard coded into Shopsite.

I would prefer to just have a link on my menu(which is above site content on every page). This link would say something such as "My Account" and would take a customer to the Account Information/Customer Account page.

Unfortunately, it seems that if I want to have customers logging in on the first page they see, they must go to the Account Information/Customer Account page. Or I delete that section of the Registration Template and they can never get to View/Edit their information.

Our Site must be password protected, so logging in on the first page is pretty important, but we don't want to have that their account information only accessible from that one page that pulls from the Registration Template because that is very limiting with our site design.

Do you guys have any ideas? I doubt I am the first to run into this logistical wall.
