sales commission

Postby tonymommsen » Fri Nov 16, 2007 10:44 am

we will be selling a charcoal grill both online and in stores.

This is how we would like the store sales to work:

1. Sales person logs into our shopsite store and purchase the grill

2. In the shopping cart page they will enter a Store number and PIN (for sales person)

3. Sales person will be given a special price.

Is this possible?

How do we do it?

Perhaps you could do this with a Coupon (note: the Coupon feature is only in ShopSite Pro, not Manager or Starter). You can create a coupon with a name something like 'Instore sale - [store_number] - [sales_person_name]' and assign it any "PIN" you want as the Alternate Code for that coupon. The coupon value can either be a straight dollar amount discount, or it can be a percentage discount. Then when the sales person goes to the cart they type their "PIN" in the coupon field and that coupon is added to the cart and their particular coupon discount is applied.

If you don't want the cart to show the sales person's discount, then perhaps you would set this up using the Associates feature (also only in Pro). Basically, create a new Associate for each sales person, and assign them a particular commission (flat dollar amount per order or a percentage) give the sales person their link. They would then click on this link prior to placing an order, and that order would include their name as the Associate Name. The order would show the regular prices for the items, and then you would pay the sales people based on the commission amounts that will display in the Associates reports.
