Order Option Values

Postby GiftSpecialists » Sat Oct 06, 2007 11:00 am

Is there a way that I can make the value for the option that is passed to SS different than the text that the shopper sees in the options drop-down menu?

We are a gift store, and our customers do not want any pricing shown on their packing slips.

Example:
Choose an option
White Wine (-$2);-2:00
Red Wine (+2);2.00

If I choose Red Wine (+$2) in the example above, "Red Wine (+$2)" shows up in the cart. ShopSite sets the value of the option to whatever the text is. Can I change this so that only the Red Wine shows up in the cart?

Thanks for any help.

What ever is before the ; is just text that is displayed to the shopper, it has no affect at all on the price. So just don't put the price adjustment in the text.

White Wine (-$2);-2:00
and
White Wine;-2:00

Will both subtract 2.00 from the base price of the item.

Thanks Jim, yes I understand that, but what I want to do is let the shopper know that there will be an added charge with that option, but not display it in the cart.
