VERY URGENT! PLEASE HELP....

Postby Tropical » Wed Oct 03, 2007 12:26 pm

We are working on a project for a client and will be using Site Build
It and Store Build It. The client is asking us what database is used
to store the data for the e-store with Store Build It.

What kind of data base does Shop site use for Store Build It?

Also-
how many transactions can the data base handle?
how secure is the data?
How is the database being designed and optimized?
What data is being stored and for how long?
Do you have templates with recommendations on data retention and data we gather?

Please let me know ASAP
Thanks you!!

SBI uses ShopSite version 7, which uses its own database. It is not an SQL database, the database is built into the software. In ShopSite version 8 the database was changed to an SQLite database. There is no limit to the number of orders the database can handle. For security, ShopSite uses an SSL provided by your hosting company, SBI. You would need to contact them directly for more information concerning this.

You as the merchant can choose if you would like to store credit card information or not. If you are using an online payment gateway, you would not need to store the credit card information in the back office of your ShopSite store. If you are planning on processing credit cards manually outside of ShopSite, you can choose to store the credit card information, but after the order has been viewed or downloaded, the credit card information will be purged.

Correction...the CVV2 information will be purged once the order has been viewed or downloaded.
