"Orders" button 500 error

Postby GiftSpecialists » Fri Aug 03, 2007 3:33 pm

Hi everyone,

I recently upgraded to v8.3 yesterday and I am wondering if anyone else has had a situation where when you go into Shopsite and click the "Orders" button, it brings up a 500 Internal Server Error page? Has anyone else run into this problem? Anyone know what would cause this and how to solve the problem? I have four sites that use Shopsite and one has no issues, however the other remaining three do.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! : )

Thanks,
Nikki

Internal Server Error is a pretty generic error meaning something when wrong and doesn't give much indication as to what.

Were there any errors reported when you ran the upgrade? If so what?

Are the stores all sharing the same cgis or does each have its own set?

Do any other cgis that run on the secure url have the same problem? (Try going to the Payment screen)

Were permissions changed on any files in the data directory, particularly shopsite_db or files in the ip and moreip directories?

Did you happen to restore files from your backup after you upgraded the stores to 8.3?

Jim.

Thank you for your extremely fast response!

Were there any errors reported when you ran the upgrade? If so what?
-None reported.

Are the stores all sharing the same cgis or does each have its own set?
-Each has it's own set.

Do any other cgis that run on the secure url have the same problem? (Try going to the Payment screen)
-No.

Were permissions changed on any files in the data directory, particularly shopsite_db or files in the ip and moreip directories?
-No, none of those were touched.

Did you happen to restore files from your backup after you upgraded the stores to 8.3?
-I dont think so. I did a backup before I upgraded. I followed the same procedure of each of the sites as I did for the one that is right now working 100% correct.

Is there a file named "VERSION" in the store's data directory?

Did you run out of / low on disk space when you were upgrading?

Can you still place an order in the store?

Is the VERSION file in the data directory not suppose to be present?

Good on the ordering, at least your store isn't down. (orders are stored in there own individual databases until you go to the Orders screen.)

It sounds like the main shopsite database, shopsite_db, can't be accessed.

Can you add a product or page to the store?

The ordering factor working is certainly a good thing. When I go to add a product, it does add it in shopsite. I went and copied a product and named it as something else to test this out. It allowed this without any complications.

Check the ShopSite Data Directory for a file named download.gdb. If there is one there, delete it and then try accessing your orders again and see if that helped.

I found download.gdb, but are you certain that is suppose to be deleted?

I went ahead and just backed up the file and deleted it out of the data directory to see if it would make a difference. It unfortunately did not make a difference.

Good. My next guess was going to be that after the upgrade to v8.3 you (or whomever did the upgrade) applied the orderhandler.cgi patch and either didn't have correct permissions set on the patch file or uploaded it in ASCII format thereby corrupting it. Was it either of these?

Loren,

Your next guess would had been correct. :) The permissions were not correctly set for orderhandler.cgi on the other three sites.

Thanks for your help!
