XML Uploads

I would like to investigate using the SS XML Product upload feature. Many of my suppliers are providing their product data in XML format and I want to take advantage of it.

All I can find in SS is the XML SDK that keeps referring to an "automated uplaod". Am I taking this too literally or is this what I need to "install" to create XML uploads for the backoffice product upload? In other words is the SDK for programmed unattended uploads or is this the XML bible for SS.

You can do an XML upload from the backoffice of your store under Utilities > Database > Upload. Just speciy the xml file and as long as it matches the dtd for a ShopSite upload it will be recognized as an xml file and imported.

The XML SDK is a sample perl program that shows you how you could implement your own automated upload.
