upgrading errors

Postby stilfx » Wed Feb 21, 2007 5:09 pm

No matter which way I skin it.. I keep getting this error:

//
Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
//

...when trying to run wwwinstall.cgi from my cart root (install dir). I've downloaded the shopsite-8.2.1-linux.zip a few time (binary) and set the permissions to 777 etc... and still get the error. Any help please?

What kind of system are you trying to install on? For some, 777 is TOO much permissions. Try 755 instead. Check your webserver's error log, too, if it's a permissions error it may says so in there.

Also, if you have shell access to the server, try executing the wwwinstall.cgi from the commandline like this:

./wwwinstall.cgi

It should respond with something like 'No method!', if it doesn't and gives some other funky errors it was probably corrupted by your FTP transfers.

Silly Permissions... got it.

That was not fun, but I did however pop my SSH terminal cherry, kinda cool. Thanks for the help.
