Sample Excel or Access File for Uploading

Postby bittersweet » Fri Feb 09, 2007 9:26 am

Does anyone have a sample Excel or Access DB they'd be willing to share? An Excel spreadsheet that has all of the possible shopsite fields listed in each column?

I'm new to ShopSite (have latest pro version) and would like to upload several products and subproducts into ShopSite.

Is there anyone out there that is using ShopSite for selling event tickets. I'd especially be interested in corresponding. We have multiple prices for each event: reserved seating, student, senior citezen, etc., and I've been adding events as subproducts. Not quite sure how I would do this if I uploaded all our event tickets in a spreadsheet.

Anyway, I appreciate any help.

The easiest way to get such a file is to got Utilities > Database > Download select the Product radio button and click the Download button. On the next screen select the radio button for "Simple tab-delimited text file format" and select the download version 8.2 (or the most current version listed). Then make sure that the All fields radio button is selected and specify a file name and txt extension and click the Proceed button. The file will be downloaded to your PC and you can open it in Excel and see all available fields and if you have set up subproducts in your store you will see the way that they are formatted in the field "Subproducts"

If you have lots of data in your store and want to see a simple example you could get a demo store from ShopSite.com and just enter in a few products and then do the download from that store.
