Generate.cgi cpu usage

generate.cgi is taking up 40% of cpu usage and taking over an hour to regenerate. Any ideas?

Something must be wrong... I have several high volume stores on my server and my CPU usage stays around 5% or less all the time, even with more than one generate.cgi running at the same time. Have you checked to make sure that the problem isn't with apache or your server? Have you tried re-uploading generate.cgi just to be sure nothing is wrong with the actual script?
