Problem upgrading to 8.1, database appears to goof up

Postby edabbott » Fri Sep 08, 2006 7:34 am

Hello,

My name is Ed Abbott. I have a friend who uses
shopsite. He recently installed it within the past
60 days or so.

In any case, he was offered the opportunity of a
"free upgrade to 8.1" at his hosting company,
Powweb.

He has upgraded and now gets the following
error message:

(#11100050) Couldn't open shipdata file!

He gets the error message in shopsite manager.
Here's the path:

Commerce Setup > Shipping

Any ideas?

One thing I've thought might work is to download
the database as an 8.0 database and then upload
it again.

Thanks in advance. I know nothing of Shopsite
and I've opened up a trouble ticket for my friend
at Powweb assuming that maybe they might have
some suggestions.

However, please chime in if you have some ideas.

The shipdata.aa file is not a database, it is a settings file for the shipping functionality. It's either a permissions issue with this file or the upgrade on the store was not run completely. Powweb should be able to resolve this issue, and if Powweb needs help from ShopSite they will contact ShopSite, so your friend can be patient and wait for Powweb to fix it, or if their support contacts at Powweb don't seem reponsive they can ask them to bump the issue up to their highest tier of support at Powweb.

Loren,

As you correctly predicted, Powweb has resolved the issue once they were made aware of it. However, I so appreciate your taking the time to answer.
