Oops. javascript in thank you page.

Postby David Gray » Tue Jul 04, 2006 3:11 am

I added a little javascript in the Thank You Screen to send customers back
to one of two pages, depending on what was in their cart. The script is in
the "return to storefront" field.

This all works perfectly but when some customers get their e-mail receipt
the subject says "{Disarmed} Your Receipt Order Number..." and the
javascript shows up in the e-mail. I believe MailScanner does this if it
finds certain html tags.

I can't think of a solution for this. Can you? I'm running ShopSite Pro 8.0.

David,

Make your own custom shopping cart template and either just code the
JavaScript in the [-- DEFINE ThankYou --] section of your template and
remove it from the backoffice "return to storefront" field, or remove
the [-- ThankYouReturnStore --] tag from the [-- DEFINE ThankYou_Email
--] section so that what you have in the "return to storefront" field
will only show up on the thank you screen itself, and not the HTML email
receipt.

Thanks Loren, your solution worked great.

Will I need to redo this change when I upgrade to a new version of ShopSite?

No, you shouldn't, your custom shopping cart template should continue to
work the same in newer versions of ShopSite.
