Is it possible to display the inventory on hand quantity on a product page?

Sure, you can use the two new tags with ShopSite 8.0 to display live
inventory:

[-- ProductInventoryPopUp {optional string} --]
Create a pop-up window displaying the Quantity On Hand
[-- ProductInventoryActual path_to_shopping_cart_cgi {optional string} --]
Display current Quantity On Hand on the page using Server Side Includes
(SSI)
