custom checkout fields

Is it possible to add custom checkout fields to the
cart field (rather than the shipping/billing page)?

I'm adding gift wrapping, using a surcharge and
ordering instructions (both on the cart page). I'd
like to add a choice of gift card photo, so need to
add a pull-down that would get passed along to the
order info.

Possible?

Just add another surcharge with the gift cart photos as the pulldown
options.

How do I add an additional surcharge menu? I see that
the text next to the surcharge menu box says "Surcharge pull-down
menus (optional):" but am not finding instructions on how to end
one pull-down and start another.

You mean put the additional pull-down code directly into the cart template, correct?

You add multiple surcharges the same way as multiple order options just

put a blank line between what you want in each pulldown for example

Giftwrap;n
Gold;+2
Red
Orange and Black

Photo on Card;n
Christmas Scene
Halloween
Valentine

You can't add custom fields to the shopping cart screen and have them
passed on to the billing screen so the only way to do this would be
using multiple surcharges.
