Reports, numbers not adding up?

I'm clearly missing something....

Reports >> Sales shows $999.64 in products, and $12.90 in shipping costs = $1012.54. According to the help manual this is "gross sales".

When I "Download" all orders, and look at "Order Total" I get $1,022.53. Now I did refund one order so that brings it down to $1012.54.

So those 2 align.

BUT BUT BUT
Reports >> Product shows $1228.09 in product sales

For the same time period. I'm not sure what Reports >> Product is trying to tell me as that number is higher than gross sales.
