Auth.Net SIM integration broken

Postby kiltym » Sat Sep 12, 2015 5:46 pm

Hi all,

All of a sudden, today, our credit card transactions are not working as they used to. We have made no changes in the last 24 hours to Shopsite or Auth.net.

From the confirmation page in the checkout process, customer clicks Submit Order. Customer is taken to Auth.Net payment form.

Enter CC info, and click button to submit payment.

Customer is presented with a Thank You page from Auth.net. No order is being created. CC transaction is being processed.

Yesterday (and for past 4 years), after submitting payment, customer is re-directed back to SS, the order is created, and customer is given Thank You page from Shopsite...... I have confirmed on the Auth.net payment form there is a form variable for "x_relay_url" pointing back to thankyou.cgi in shopsite, but for some reason Auth.net is no longer sending the customer there. The redirect back to Shopsite is all of a sudden not happening.

Any ideas? We cannot process any credit cards right now because of this issue. HELP!

We have not heard of any recent issues with Auth.Net SIM. You can ask them if they can tell if the redirect to your site are going through. You could also check your web server logs to see if you see the hand-off coming back or if any errors are reported.

On Sept 9th we had one merchant receive the email below. Note that even with HTML on the Auth.Net side there are not supposed to be any processing problems, just formatting:

---------------------------FROM AUTHORIZE.NET-----------------------------------------------
We are updating our systems to increase the security of the Authorize.Net hosted payment form, receipt page and email receipts. *As part of this change, support for HTML tags, JavaScript and CSS in these pages will be disabled later tonight. *This includes the use of links and hosted images. Plain text will still be supported.

Upon review, your account appears to be using HTML, JavaScript and/or CSS in one or more fields of the pages listed above. While the changes we are implementing will _not_ disrupt your ability to process transactions, it will impact the format of the information your customers will see on the payment form, receipt page and email receipts.

*Therefore, we urge you to make the necessary modifications as soon as possible to ensure your customers continue to have a seamless payment experience.*

There are two locations to check for HTML, JavaScript or CSS: the Merchant Interface and the API configuration.

To check the Merchant Interface:

1. Log into the Merchant Interface at https://account.authorize.net.
2. Click *Account* from the main toolbar.
3. Click *Settings* from the menu on the left.
4. Under *Transaction Format Settings*, check the following:
* *Payment Form*
o Click the*Header *link to see any text saved.
o Click the*Footer *link to see any text saved.
* *Receipt Page*
o Click the*Header* link to see any text saved.
o Click the*Footer* link to see any text saved.
* *Email Receipt*
o See the Header and Footer options.
5. If you see HTML, JavaScript or CSS in any of these fields, please
delete it and then click *Save*.

We received the same email, and the html included in our header and footer was causing formatting errors last week, and we sorted that. Then all of a sudden on Saturday the redirects back to shopsite stopped happening.

I have a ticket open with Auth.net.

Just wondering if you heard back from Authorize.Net and got this resolved? One other thing to try would be to turn off using SSL in the cart and then try a test order. If that goes through it would indicate that there is some issue with the SSL. BTW, what is the URL or domain of your web site?

When it took 3 days to hear back from Auth.net I changed SS over to use AIM so we could keep processing orders.

I have not had the desire to switch back and try to diagnose further since AIM is working OK for us.

Our website is www.thewirie.com, but the SSL is shared from the server we are hosted on (bluehost) so the SSL pages go through https://secure.bluehost.com. We have never had an issue for 5 years using SIM, and we did not make any changes on our end, so I can only assume it is something Auth.net changed.

If I have time, I can try to switch back and see what happens, but I don't want to interrupt our site again.

Thanks for following up.
