Our website is set up for retail customers and they get free shipping with a minimum order. No login required.

Can I set up our current website so that we can offer wholesale prices to pre-approved customers, with a login required? And also use the same SKU for both pricing.

If yes, can I make it so that there is no option for free shipping for wholesale, but still offer it to retail.

Or is it better to set up another website just for wholesale?

It would be better to set up a separate wholesale site.

You can do much of what you want with just one store but there would be no way to limit freeshipping to retail shoppers. Also if you have product search in you store and you have separate wholesale pages the search results would display for both retail and wholesale shoppers. Setting different pricing for wholesale verses retail shoppers would also be difficult in a single store.
