Version 10 & Google Merchants Errors

Hi Guys

We are seeing an issue within Google Merchants which is preventing us from being able to add the products we stock. Referring to UPC, ISBN, and Brand.

We have Branded every item. Most of the products we offer are from manufacturers overseas and they often are missing UPC's and ISBN's.

I have added 2 extra fields which are included in our XML upload to Google Merchants. UPC and ISBN. Can we simply add the word, False, to each one of those product fields which qualifies or do I need to create another extra field for identifier_exists, and then give each product the value of false?

First, there is another unique identifier field, mpn (Manufaturers Part Number). So even if you don't have anything for the gtin/upc/isbn field, surely they have some kind of part number or something for the item that you can put in the mpn field? Google only requires two of three unique identifiers for each product.

Next, if you really don't have 2 of the 3 for each item, you can add the identifier_exists element via the Extra Fields the same way you have added the brand and gtin fields, see:

Note that Brand, GTIN/UPC/ISBN, and MPN fields were added to ShopSite in v11, and the identifier_exists field was added in ShopSite 12 sp1 (via a product setting labeled 'Custom Product without Unique Identifiers' in the Google Shopping section of Add/Edit Product).
