Alternative prices for international shipping

Hi,
I'm looking for a way to facilitate international shipping, but it costs significantly more than within the US. I can't see a way to specify cost per country (except for the the tax/vat option). How do I differentiate between cost within the US and international orders?

The real-time shipping carriers, USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc all take into account where the product is shipped from and where it is shipped to. They provide international rates for international shipments. Using the ShopSite shipping methods, by weight, by currencty etc. there isn't a way to configure it so that international customers get a different rate.
