Tax reporting is just a total, how can I get more detail?

Postby NST » Fri Jun 22, 2007 1:22 pm

:?:

The reports that I can download, from ShopSite Manager, simply provide a tax total (made up of PST and GST, here in Canada), when I download a CSV, for example.

How can I see the amounts paid for each tax (PST & GST), per order? Is there a report that provides me with totals on each of the tax categories I set in the store's setup, say by month or period that I indicate?

Thanks!

There is no report in ShopSite that will give you the taxes collected, you would need to get that information from the orders download file.

ShopSite only calculates one tax on an order. So if you are collecting both PST and GST you have combined those rates into a single rate for the various locales. You would need to do a calculation in your spreadsheet to compute the amount of each type of tax collected for a specific period.

The download file gives a tax total as well, not breaking them out. I guess because I put a combined tax of 14% (GST & PST) for an Ontario resident, then it's only going to charge (and show) 14% total tax... Hmmm.. A more Canadian Tax friendly option set would be desireable...

14% tax rate!! A lower one would also be more desireable.
